A listen to Sandy Hook, the first track from Mind Tenants Operation>>Sovereign Borders, makes it pretty clear this won't be an album full of heavily produced candy pop love nor introspective philosophical navel gazing. Instead Mind Tenants, a three piece from a remote valley on the border of Victoria and NSW, plan to subject listeners to an overtly political diatribe delivered in a style that many would think should belong to any era except this one. Many of us use music to escape the gritty lives we lead, but Mind Tenants believe music, like all of the arts, needs to be the voice of dissent. Lyrically this aligns Mind Tenants with old school punk and political hip hop yet musically they share more with the Australian garage rock scene of the 70’s and 80’s. For their debut album Mind Tenants joined forces with engineer and producer Dave Sparks, long-time guitarist with iconic Australian punk band the Lime Spiders. Sandy Hook and Heart's laid Bare are both from Mind Tenants
