Blending sixth sense harmonies with sun-dappled folk-rock, award winning duo Minor Gold return from the global stage to deliver a new single Way to the Sun - the title track from their forthcoming sophomore album. Beneath the hypnotic groove and rich analog warmth, Way to the Sun pulses with an aching weariness. A soul running on empty, but with a flicker of defiance. The imagery shifts from the cold, grey cityscape to something sun-drenched and alive - spinning weightless in the air, feeling the sting of salt on skin, letting warmth seep into the bones. The song is a quest for renewal, for the light, for a world where the soul isn’t just another cog in the machine. Produced by Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Dan Horne (Mapache, Cass McCombs, Beachwood Sparks, Circles Around the Sun), both the title track and the album breathe with a rare, symbiotic energy between Parsons and McNeil. Horne’s masterful touch brings the recording to life, carrying you through desert highways and coastal canyons in vibrant Technicolor. Feather-light drums from California jazz drummer Austin Beede and Horne’s electric bass and pedal steel weave seamlessly into the sonic tapestry, adding depth and warmth, while preserving the intimate interplay at the heart of the music. Recorded over seven summer days at Ultimate Hair Farm studio, Way to the Sun - the song, and the album, slowly emerged, like a hazy mirage rising from a cosmic, suburban dream. The recording sessions dissolved into a kaleidoscope of poolside barbecues, late-night percussion jams, and moonlit swims where time slipped and stretched. The music seemed to shape itself, waiting to be discovered rather than forced. And so, the two songwriters stood at the edge of control, trying - desperately, deliberately - to loosen their grip. The work had been done; the work was being done. Now, it was time to let go and watch the sun rise. The heart of the album grew on the road - songs sparked on Australian highways and were finished in Middle America. A cosmic country/folk evolution, it delves deeper thematically, seeking light in the shadows. Parsons, captivated by the studio process, pushed for “one more track.” That track, Way to the Sun, was born in just one afternoon, capturing the album’s essence and leading the way as the first single. Since their acclaimed 2023 debut, Minor Gold has captured sold-out audiences across North America, U.K, and Europe with their heartfelt songwriting and undeniable chemistry. To celebrate, they’ll hit the road in their 99’ Chevy Astro for the Way to the Sun North American Spring Tour, covering the U.S North & Southeast and select Canadian cities. With the full album set for release in July 2025, an extensive Australian tour will follow in October. “…a potent partnership; their voices meld beautifully, with heavenly harmonies and a glorious simplicity to the presentation…this is an album to get lost in.” - STACK “Brilliant songwriting and impeccable performances make this such an endearing debut” – Double J
