With a sound originally rooted in the Ethiojazz, 'Single Shot' sees Sydney's Mister Ott expand their sonic palette to incorporate psychedelic guitars, reverb-drenched horns, intergalactic keys, and a crunchy drum-and-bass combo that would make DJ Shadow envious. The result is a marriage of mesmerising eastern sounds, tight jazz/funk, and hypnotic grooves with a psychedelic edge. Sure to be enjoyed by fans of badbadnotgood, Anderson .Paak, Mulatu Astatke and Fela Kuti.
