been surfing since i was 10---but hate surfie music---love early country blues---started strumming guitar at 16---started writing soon after---Townes Van Zandt is my favorite songwriter in the whole world---love playing music coz of the great friends you make---biggest influences are the surrealist poets & dead country-rock idols... I try to hear words in my guitar vamping. Let the song reveal it's own layers. A dog crying at the moon can be moving & make you cry. In a similar way there's something instinctive & visceral about howling thru a microphone! I might leave my job if I win this thang... I carry, drag, wear my guitar every waking second!
