Sitting at the midway point between cool club rhythms, avant-garde conceptualism, and romantic melody cinema, MJ’s remixes and productions have been streamed over 100,000 times worldwide, played on NTS and NPR radio, soundtracked award-winning videogames and theatre shows, featured in Bandcamp Daily and The Wire, and rocked in club nights in Rotterdam, Berlin, and Glasgow — but you’ve probably still never heard of her. Plagued by severe chronic illness and disability for most of her life, MJ’s prolific career has frequently taken a backseat to a basic struggle to survive.
