Melbourne-based creative MKALA's raw and vulnerable sound has an untouched quality to it, characteristic of her self-taught vocal style. From a very early age, she dreamt of a career in the arts- specifically as a musician- and kept this aspiration close to her heart even after ceasing her formal vocal training in her teens. Despite this, she has found herself coming full circle now in her twenties, with the release of her debut track- "Breath- ft. LB", co-written and produced by Anakin V. Her infatuation with music, since its very humble early beginnings, has always been one of pure admiration and wonder at the raw honesty and emotion conveyed through song in such clever and alluring ways. She endeavours always to create with these qualities in mind- whether expressing herself through vocals, in her hoop dance and prop manipulation, or shaking it out on the Melbourne dance floors she loves so much.
