Abstract R&B unit MKO SUN creates iridescent, multi-dimensional music that is reminiscent of the R&B/soul tradition, yet abstracted lights years beyond it. Vocal artistry dances upon an eclectic musical palette, where fearless artistic decisions reign supreme. MKO SUN is the dreamchild of Hannah Macklin – multi-faceted singer, songwriter, producer and artist, whose wild imagination fuels MKO SUN's fire. Her songwriting marries together a vast array of influences; from Stevie Wonder to Bjork; from Bacharach to hip-hop; merging everything from scored orchestral music to Neptunes-esque beats. Textures are varied and layered not “just because”, but to create infinite sonic spaces and dreamlike places. MKO SUN's third and freshest EP, Opus Opalus (released November 2015) is a cinematic and cosmic experience which explores the range of emotions and experiences that arise in the aftermath of a loved one's passing; an experimental foray which transports elements of R&B, soul and hip-hop to
