Formed in March 2012, after being in various bands and pairing to write originals, Monet (guitarist Ross Quick and vocalist Lisa Jones) released their first album, Humble Beginnings, in October 2012. Ranging in genre and emotion, the selection of original songs on the album showcases their songwriting diversity whilst keeping to the ‘relationship’ theme. The creative synergy of Ross’s unique acoustic guitar playing (in his words ‘finger picking, jazz inspired chords’) with Lisa’s heartfelt lyrics and melody lines, make for an eclectic sound which is distinct and individual to Monet. The album, recorded at Studios 301 in Byron Bay (New South Wales, Australia), was produced in Brisbane Queensland by Wernher Pramschufer and features session musicians Blakeley Akers (bass) and Glen Baker (drums). Currently gigging in and around Brisbane, the duo will be playing at the Marion Bay Falls Festival in December 2012. The video clip of their single ‘Don’t You Cry’, filmed on location at
