Mongo Shakers blends 70s Smash Ups, proghop, artfunk, dubpsych and digitaljazz into audio tomfoolery that’s energetic, warm, intricate and often very funny. The founders, Matt Button and the late Chris Grayson RIP, ran a studio in Shoreditch where free jazzers, punk poets and young junglists recorded. Matt now works with Richard Ferguson, whose virtuosity brings emotional heft to the music.
