With intent to amplify an environments effects on mood, mossphern draws inspiration from everyday sounds and then reimagines its purpose within a new context using the control over soundwaves that synthesis provides. Complimenting this core framework, is the rawness of roughly tuned acoustic instruments and old technology such as cassette tapes. Mosspherns first EP ‘Tides’ embraces the imperfections of live play, improvisation, cassette tape recording, and inexperience to craft a relatable look into environments and sounds of profound spiritual impression. Songs progress gently, sometimes through subtle fluctuations of oscillating waveforms and sometimes with a flowing melody from an electric guitar.
