Through their unique blend of folk-tinged rock, My Giddy Aunt explores loneliness, self-expression and queer love. This trio from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) are best known for their energetic live act and memorable songwriting full of heart, passion and more than a touch of whimsy. More recently, the trio released their debut album, 2024’s ‘8 Billion Characters in the Worst Movie Ever.’ On this project, the group’s creativity and eclecticism run rampant. The Aunts surround themselves with characters as unique and strange as they feel, offering a view of the world from an outsider looking in. Highlights include ‘Laika,’ a moving tribute to the queen of the stars, and the insect revolution anthem ‘Bugs.’
