Thomas Kent is a very disabled composer, poet, photographer, painter, Spoken Word artist and teacher of Buddhism and meditation who lives in West Footscray, Melbourne, Australia. My Melbourne Down is a name for his music whether created solo or with friends. With over 860,000 hits on Quora, Tom is Australia's most popular Buddhist teacher. With over 14,000 listens, he may well be Australia's most popular Classical composer. Tom formerly studied for a B.Mus in Composition and Music Production at the Australian Institute of Music, Melbourne, before having to discontinue for health reasons. Tom is too disabled to play any instrument well enough to perform live, although he has in the past. As a Spoken Word event organiser, Tom organised and ran the influential and popular koLABorAYshun spoken word events in Melbourne. Tom works in a very large range of genres including classical, blues, electronic, ambient, darkwave, soundscape, spoken word, gothic, industrial, and dark folk.
