Introducing Nabu, rapping on the forefront of the world’s South Asian cultural renaissance with infectious confidence and charisma. Adopting the musical zeitgeist of 2010s hip hop, Nabu injects his experience as an ‘ethnically ambiguous’ first-generation immigrant, being the first to tell you, “of course I look like this”. Nabu is his affectionate childhood nickname, with its long lasting implications informing his adult life. Family and heritage are everything to Nabu, his Punjabi Indian background being a source of pride in finding his own voice, inspired by Bollywood films and songs played by his older sister. Influenced by icons of the last decade such as Childish Gambino and Vince Staples, Nabu’s is a craft built on thoughtful production, conscious lyricism, indelible hooks and focused aesthetics.
