Nancy Bates is a sublime vocalist and lyrical wordsmith who has been under the wings of Archie Roach as backing vocalist and support act for 3 years. It's clear Bates is an accomplished singer/songwriter in her own right who lets the world into her heart through her music. Somewhere between Tracy Chapman and Joan Armitrading is where you will find Nancy Bates with reminiscent tones, and vocal lilts. This is acoustic soul at it's best."Bates was a revelation, with her magnificently pure, powerful voice and tasteful guitar." In Daily Adelaide Review 21 March 2014
