Nathan "Naynay" Rodgers was born and raised in the small town of Mareeba, Queensland. Growing up in a close-knit community, Nathan learned the value of respect, hard work, and cultural heritage from a young age. His parents, descendants of the Indigenous Ewamain/ Walkamin/kuku Warra & kuku Yalanji people, instilled in him a deep love and appreciation for their traditional customs and music. Naynay's musical talents emerged early, with self-taught skills In Mareeba Aboriginal Community Church on the guitar, didgeridoo, and traditional instruments. He drew inspiration from His Father Tony.Rodgers Marreba and inspired Uncles from Old Mantaka Band, attend community gatherings and festivals. As a teenager, Naynay played here and there around a fire at parties and as fill ins for band,s from Mareeba/Mossman/Kuranda Just to name a few. blending traditional sounds with contemporary reggae/Country and blues and Bama Music Naynay's passion for his community drove him to become a role model for younger generations. He volunteered at local youth centers, teaching music workshops and sharing stories about Indigenous culture. Naynay also organized benefit concerts, supporting initiatives like language preservation and environmental conservation. "For me, music is about connection – to my culture, my community, and the land. I strive to share our stories, keep our traditions alive, and inspire others to respect and appreciate the beauty of Indigenous Australia." Naynay continues to create music, teach workshops, and advocate for Indigenous rights. He's working on more studio time to create more music and planning respect in our community through music to promote cultural awareness exchange and understanding. Nathan "Naynay" Rodgers MULURIDJI MUSIC embodies the spirit of his community, proudly celebrating his heritage while sharing its richness with the world. As a musician, mentor, and culture, Naynay inspires a brighter future for Indigenous youth and fosters a deeper appreciation for Australia's diverse cultural landscape.
