Ned and the Keepers met as grounds keepers at the same Noosa high school where The Chats were born. Motivated by The Chats' growing success, Ned and the Keepers started writing songs about people and events that happened around the school. The band joked that "While we may not have inspired The Chats musically, we did mow the grass under their feet!" Ned, 18, is the younger, up and coming star of the band, while Simon and Mike have been playing music since before Ned was born. The decision to take Ned and the Keepers to the world stage was inspired by the desire to provide Ned with a platform to share his developing talents, while also allowing three mates to explore their creativity, and have a bit of fun.
