Neil was fascinated with the recording process from an early age and has been writing songs for almost 30 years. His varied styles of songwriting are tied together by an undercurrent of melancholia and unflinching honesty in his lyrics. Other big influences have been other self producers, Elliott Smith, Mark Linkous and Mark Kozelek.
