New Settlement Road are a four-piece band from country Victoria, Australia. Their music is a collection of folk-inspired tunes with a strong focus on storytelling. Influenced by the music of 60′s folk writers like Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon as well as great Australian songwriters like Paul Kelly and Tim Rogers, their music is subtly dark, with a simplicity that allows the songs’ narratives to take centre stage . Described by renowned music manager Larry Tyler as “having the rare ability to capture the imagination of the listener in an honest and meaningful way”, the band have just completed a stint in the studio. ‘Among the Gentlest of Birds’, the band’s 10-track debut, was recorded in five and a half days with ARIA nominated recording engineer Robin Mai (John Butler Trio, Augie March). “We decided to record most of the music live to tape” explains singer/songwriter Waz Clark. “This just seemed like the most logical way to capture the feeling of us playing together” he
