Former NYC singer songwriter and original Ready Steady Cook host Nick Stratford has teamed up with local Melbourne legends, Tom Rouch and Shaymus Goble(ex monique brumby and penny ikinger)and Teddy House-o-sound from The Fauves, to record a classic piece of Australian Rock on the album Astroboy. Recorded over two years in Melbourne, the Album features songs inspired by Nick's 8 year old son Oliver,(who suffered a spinal injury at birth)and tracks written in the recent past Fusing their extensive influences of ‘70’s rock with dub beats, sixties harmonies with Hammond organ, and classic rock anthems with early 80’s pop punk The Fabulous Bakin’Boys are definitely old school indie. Nick Stratford’s seasoned charismatic and growling voice sits perfectly on the bed of drum patterns laid down by the enigmatic Shaymus Goble. Tom Rouch’s epic guitar work and production skills shine and Ted adds that extra level of cool cred.
