Nick Zepp's musical career started in grammar school where he played tenor sax in the school band. After some frustration Nick quit the band because he was sick of playing other people’s music. His interest in music didn’t fall off however as the next instrument he picked up was guitar. This was the time that he started writing his own music. Soon after that he taught himself how to play Piano and Bass. Nick became so interested in music he picked up a job at a record store and even went to school for music business at Columbia for a year. At this time Nick started to play out live and the response was overwhelming. Because of this Nick cut a demo called “Better than Nothin’” and attracted attention from some small labels. Soon after that it was decided that a full EP needed to be recorded, and seven months later Simplicity was born.
