Born and bred on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia, Nikk Carmichael has been playing and singing music since the age of twelve. The younger brother of a child prodigy, Carmichael began his musical career in the frustrating shadow of his elder sibling’s talent. However this inspired a drive that would leave him working tirelessly at keeping up and ultimately becoming obsessed by music. By Age 14, Nikk was playing in local bands. At 16 he was doing paid soloist work in local restaurants. By the time he had come of age he had already been playing extensively with numerous bands around the Sydney pub circuit on guitar or bass and singing backing vocals. At age 26, it was owning and operating a professional recording studio that churned out hundreds of demos and releases of Sydney bands that channelled all focus.
