Niko is a New Zealand born Samoan who has been singing his whole life through church. His professional career kicked into gear at age 20 when he attended Excel performing arts school in Auckland, NZ. Niko moved to Melbourne Australia to share his music with larger audiences and has been a staple in Melbourne's busting live scene performing 5 - 10 shows a week for many years. Inspired by rnb, soul, country, island and reggae music. Niko fuses all of these genres to create his own natural style and it shows in his unique renditions of his favorite artists. Niko recently released his debut solo single ‘Coming home’. A bittersweet song over a summery acoustic backing. Niko is currently working on releasing his debut EP in July- August 2021.

I started writing Even In Dreams at the beginning of 2017. Music has always brought me so much joy but I'd not really been playing or composing much at all for a few years before this. Then towards the end of 2016 I just found myself singing constantly. In the house, in the car, while walking, riding and on the bus, even at work (apologies to my co-workers). At first I was just singing new songs or bands that I had recently heard but as I thought more about it I realised that half the time I was just improvising, making up little disjointed melodies and lyrics. I started cataloguing them in the voice memos on my phone, and soon enough I realised at some point I would have enough material to release a record. I had just recently gotten really into a few "rock" bands at the same time in 2016 (Biffy Clyro, Don Broco and One Ok Rock) and got really inspired to make a rock / punk record. I luckily had a bunch of recording equipment still lying around from my time in the band Jade Monkey
