We were all variously working in the media in Canberra and had a few jam sessions for fun. At some stage, we decided to take it more seriously and worked up a set of songs (a mix of covers and originals) that we could perform. That was hard work, but performing as No Third Dividend (original members Alison McMeekin, David McMeekin, Julie Doyle, Ben Houston) was immensely satisfying. We disbanded when Ally and Dave moved to Adelaide. The Leichhardt was one of the songs we wrote, and (even though No Third Dividend hasn't re-formed) it was fun to record it properly.
