Eternity is the promise in Nyassa’s debut single, Ghost. The Adelaide-based singer introduces herself with a vow, projected in her powerful vocals: “I will love you even when I’m a ghost.” “Making music feels like being in love – you’re in another world, a beautiful one,” says Nyassa. “I want to make people feel something that they can't explain... I naturally put a piece of my soul into my songs.” As a child, Nyassa taught herself to sing by transcribing Alicia Keys’ songs from a CD player on her bedroom floor. Word by word, she’d hand-write the lyrics while practicing the vocal melodies and runs. Fashion is as much a part of Nyassa’s artistry and soul as her music and songs are, showing her passion for couture and her clear-eyed creative vision to build a pop persona as big as her voice. The strength of her talent speaks for itself and has led her to working with fellow Adelaidians and hip hop royalty, Hilltop Hoods. Nyassa provided guest vocals on their Great Expanse album and headed out on the road with them as their live singer for their 2019 & 2022 Arena tours. She felt at home under the spotlights, energised by the eyes of the thousands of people singing along. Ghost is a stunning introduction to a bold talent, and the first taste of a stellar new sound.
