About halfway between Melbourne and Ballarat is a little hole in the ground called Bacchus Marsh. Head into town, take a right at the only roundabout and stop at the second house on the corner. Walk in the back gate of Scott Davidson’s house, give Tommydog a pat on the way past and you’ll be handed a cold one by one of the OD Tommydogs three members. They’re just as likely to be sitting around having a beer as they are to be playing their instruments. In fact, they probably sound better after a couple of cans. OD Tommydogs play good solid rock n roll – old style. They sit somewhere between Cosmic Psychos and The Meanies, with slightly more sophisticated tunes. Not much mind you. Brothers Scott (lead vocals/bass) and Ross Davidson (guitar) have been mates with Sammo (drums) for years. They’ve spent long enough in the garage to have their music tight and their vocals loose. They’ve impressed Mum and Dad, headed up to Ballarat to record their debut mini-album in someone else’s garage
