Too old to start a pop/rock band and release an album? Maybe not! This is the case for trio OGC (Off Grid Connection). All over 50 and two of the members, Scott and Cameron, had never played in a band before and Rex, the eldest at 66, hadn’t touched his guitar for 20 years. Now less than a year after starting they’re doing a digital release of their album “No Space”. The guys are neighbours and live on a community in the Northern Rivers of NSW where all the houses are solar powered and off the grid – hence the name of the band. They started out with the idea of just having a jam together doing a few covers but shortly after decided to do original material only. Their music and videos have all been made with a zero budget! They were recorded in a bedroom studio and Cameron’s yoga centre. The album has an 80s feel with strong, modern influences. It’s a great sounding, polished album, well worth a listen.
