The latest project of pianist Nik Fentiman (The Roshambos, Milo Hunter), Old China is a psych-infused musical remedy featuring warbling guitars, misty synths, infectious rhythms, and a healthy dose of nostalgia, culminating in a garden-fresh amalgam of the classic and the new. Old China released debut five-track EP Sack Lunch in late 2021 to broad acclaim, with critics describing the work as “effortlessly laid back” (The New LoFi) and “an intoxicating piece of psychedelic pop” (The Revue). Since release, Sack Lunch has amassed tens of thousands of streams from across the world and led to an ongoing collaboration with Pop Cautious Records of Los Angeles. In live performance, Old China is joined by band mates Neal Apel (Rolls Bayce, Milo Hunter), Nathan Burns (The Roshambos, Milo Hunter), and Mark Cosgrove (Magenta Voyeur, Mango Sun, Milo Hunter) to deliver a unique, impactful sound which explores the sprawling territory between vintage pop and modern psychedelia.
