Melbourne based artist Old Man and the Sea is pleased to release COVID HEARTACHE the first single from his forthcoming album VAST. The album was originally planned for release in early 2020 but that wasn’t going to happen In previous incarnations, Old Man played the Melbourne music scene. He has had songs featured in film and television including the 2015 indie film PAWNO alongside the music of Tom Waits and Radiohead. His forthcoming album was mostly recorded in his old house in Melbourne and finished at Union Street Studio in Brunswick with guest musicians Roger Bergodaz, Shane Reiley and Clancy Milne. COVID HEARTACHE was originally meant to be a tongue and cheek social media teaser for the album, but its quirky homemade animated video gained it popularity online resulting the song becoming the lead single. Written during Melbourne's World Record 267 days of lockdowns the song is reminiscent of the Velvet Underground’s quirky chirpy but dark ballads of the 1960's. ENJOY!
