Eamon and Alex met in primary school, and continued a friendship on into highschool where, as most teens do, they both went along their own paths to discover their own tastes in music. While they both enjoyed the same sort of music, Eamon leaned more towards jazz and acoustic music with an emphasis on virtuosic guitar, while Alex was more into into progressive rock and indie, where the focus was more on the lyrics and singing. Once We Were Stars is an inevitable blend of their own personal interests, into one laid back style.
