opticalscrew are a alternative rock band from Point Leo, Victoria. Forming in 2007.. opticalscrew have played a number of well known venues around the Melbourne Area, including Pier Live!, Ferntree Gully Hotel, Hi-Fi Bar and the Esplanade Hotel, supporting bands such as Trial Kennedy, Faker, Art vs Science and British India. "The first thing that struck me about opticalscrew is the strong rhythm section. Very tight. The guitars were a nice topping to this solid foundation. The singer's style was a strange mix. Imagine Pele from The Hives, put him in a blender with Dave Grohl, throw some Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder....actually scrap that! This guy is more original. He has a warm tone and a pitch that's different but certainly the energy of those mentioned. Songs are strong and image as well. Very good lads. Very good."
