"Orangeman was born inside a piano" was a quote from one musician who witnessed a recording from his home studio in western sydney. Orangeman starting playing guitar age 16 but quickly turned to electric bass to hone his musical craft. Picking up the snare and later drumkit at age 20 Orangeman challenged himself by learning a new instrument every year for 5 years. Composing completely by ear his music is eclectic, diverse, poppy, rocking and unique all at once. Playing every instrument on his musical pieces through a process of "obsessive overdub" Orangeman would prefer write instrumental music except that people stop listening after an 8 bar instrumental these days. Continuing to record music from his home studio Orangeman is working toward developing his skills writing for ensembles, soundtracks and short films.
