Orin are an alternative rock band from Hobart, Tasmania. Their beginnings hark back to 2013 when frontman Sam Marshall began recording demos for what would become their debut release 'I'm Mortal'. The recording process was the catalyst for the formation of the sextet and the release of 'I'm Mortal' in mid-2013 saw them perform a flurry of well-received shows across their home state. Developing a reputation as a loose live act, their sound evolved from the acoustic rock foundations of their debut into a more progressive, genre-hopping aural experience. This can be heard on their upcoming sophomore release 'Stone'. The six tracks were crafted by each of the band members this time around and move between styles with disregard, combining roots, folk, post-hardcore and funk. Lyrically the EP contains Marshall’s musings on youth, lust, pacifism and a novel-like recount of a two-year metanoia he underwent; documented in the sprawling final title track ‘Stone.’
