Our Perfect Storm is a song writing duo from Western Australia, who have created a collection of songs about real life, love and adversity. The project came to life whilst, Sarah (lyrics, melodies and vocals) was healing from a spinal fracture. She and her partner Rod released their first track "Falling for You” on Valentine's day February 14th 2025 to mark the beginning of a new chapter within their personal lives. Sarah, a Mother and Mental Health Nurse, originates from the UK. Her love of music dates back to teenage years, when she immersed herself in the Goth/Rock scene. Decades later Sarah met Rod who recognised her talent for lyrics and melodies, loved her voice and encouraged her to put down the hairbrush and pick up a mic. A talented guitarist, singer and drummer, Rod hails from Australia, developing his craft in the Sydney pub scene of the post grunge 1990s. Rod has worked as a professional musician throughout his life, playing in well loved local bands in the South West region around Bunbury. He is now enjoying a reignited passion for making original music. Despite living 200km apart the pair met online in 2023. Their shared passion for music sparked a friendship which developed into a love story. Rod introduced Sarah to the Aussie greats, and Sarah gave Rod a taste of all things dark. Despite their penchant for heavy guitars and rousing Gothic riffs, their own music has taken a different path. Sarah's heartfelt lyrics and Rod's musical interpretation create reality based, meaningful songs that are held dear to the couple. Our Perfect Storm are a musical genre they find hard to define. The challenges of navigating a long distance relationship unashamedly sets the scene for their first project and upcoming EP Cingulomania, meaning "A strong desire to hold a person in your arms."
