Dusty roads, drunken towns and barren hearts are made into poems and odes to living by Our Talons, a four man and one lady band from Brisbane. With a touch of country and a whole lot of folk, Our Talons lay to rest any notion that poeticism is dead, and the young are only fools. Made up of Tom McCaw, Angus Foote, Yolande Schefe, Jon South and Eammon Mottram, the band combines the forces of subtle strumming, soaring solos, fiddle, bass and drums right from the train track. The final combination of members in Our Talons is the culmination of a long and hard search for the right people to make the right sound. Finding influences from bands such as the Bowerbirds, Boy and Bear, The National, Midlake, Laura Marling and Mumford and Sons, the band are still finding their feet, but enjoying it all the same
