The Owen Jacob Band is a Cairns-based alt-rock outfit blending grunge, blues and emotionally charged songwriting into something dark, atmospheric and unpredictable. Fronted by Owen Jacob, the band pulls influence from artists like Jeff Buckley, Jimi Hendrix and Chris Cornell while carving out a sound that moves between haunting vulnerability and explosive guitar-driven chaos. Their recent releases, Cobblestone and Dragonflies, Plastic Throne and Like a Storm fuse bluesy grit, massive dynamics and raw lyricism with a modern grunge edge. After building momentum through standout live shows across Far North Queensland, including Passport to Airlie and Anchor Drop Festival, the band is quickly establishing itself as one of the region’s most distinctive emerging acts.
