Calvin Williams, better known as PAO, is quickly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting bass talents. Originally from Broome and now based in Melbourne, PAO blends hard-hitting electronic bass with intricate sound design, inspired by innovators like Nitepunk and IsoXO. 2025 has seen PAO’s rise accelerate: he’s supported Jon Casey, headlined shows in Aus, and dropped his debut EP with the lead single surpassing 100,000 streams, with singles have also landing on top Spotify editorial playlists like Trap Mojito and Bass Arcade. PAO’s collaborations have been equally impactful - from reimagining RL Grime’s VOID with Australian producer Scullion (earning praise and a feature in Run the Trap) to releasing “Loud” with US artist Sportmode on Quality Good Records (QGR). With support from DJ Snake, Boombox Cartel, What So Not, Alison Wonderland, and DJ DIESEL (Shaquille O’Neal) - and his next single “IGLG” feat. Akacia on the horizon - he proves himself a force in bass music.
