Charming the Naarm/Melbourne underground rock scene, Paraquay (pronounced para-key) have cemented themselves as one of the city's most electrifying new acts. Combining pop sensibility with raucous presentation, introspective lyrics and a tinge of awkwardness, the band capture the voice of an overwhelmed generation. Following their sold out debut headliner at Wrangler Studios in 2021, Paraquay have shared the stage with artists such as RVG, Sunfruits, Bones and Jones, Beans, Good Sniff and Mainland Break (US) at venues across Melbourne and the Surf Coast. Their debut album 'Here For Your Pleasure', released in June 2023, is an honest representation of an anxious teenager flung into adulthood. Songwriter and vocalist Gus Walker’s ruminative lyrics detail fears surrounding loss and subsequent growth, from friendships to first loves and ill family.
