parklands
Parklands is a one-gentleman mostly-bedroom project by a fellow from Adelaide who has played in bands for many a year. It's a touch on the rough side, has a focus on slow building melodies, and incorporates some of the ridiculous instruments surrounding him as he types this presently in the third person.
Born in many sheds, in the place of many crows on Wiradjuri land, Parklands are an electric Rock n Roll 4-piece with an undeniable craving for authentic noise. In an era where genre is merely a suggestion, Parklands nods their collective head toward a coalescence of Brit rock, 70s American Psych Rock, combining the sound of Pink Floyd-esque riffs with lush vocals, forging their own intoxicating sound stacked with driven beats, teeming with bass that’s overloaded with textural effects. With a hunger to play any and every gig, over their young career they have managed a number of sold out shows and have been lucky enough to be put on the same lineup as plenty of other compelling artists such as Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Hands Like Houses, Rum Jungle, Citizen Kay, Sputnik Sweetheart, Good Lekker, Lucy Sugerman, and Sesame Girl, along with a whole host of Canberra Natives.
