A thud of heavy, a splash of colour, Part Paladin is a project created by Sydney-based instrumentalist/producer Dux Newton. Forged in 2020's lockdown, Part Paladin emerged as a bedroom recording project, debuting with "The Rise and the Fall" in January 2021. A sonic evolution followed in 2022 with "Koedal" exploring ancestral connections. Late 2022 saw a heavier turn with "Ascendance". After a dedicated hiatus for refinement, Part Paladin returns with a 5-track EP—a melodic, moody journey showcasing a fresh approach to contemporary heavy music. It blurs genre lines, fusing modern metal, alternative rock, atmospheric soundscapes, and compelling vocals. The lead single, "Atlantis" delves into humanity's ever growing plasticity, exploring the impact of social media and reality TV. It envisions a hypothetical apocalyptic event sinking the world into the mythos of lost civilizations. “Atlantis” is released on all stores February 2, with the EP available March 1.
