Patrick Keating Pat is 16 and is from Petrie in Brisbane’s northern suburbs He’s a Year 11 Student at St Patricks College, Shorncliffe, and looking forward to finishing school (!). Pat picked up a guitar for the first time in September 2011 after suffering a broken arm playing footy, and has slowly developed his playing skills; he’s had no formal lessons, and has picked up what he knows by watching people play and hours of practice. His major influences (so far) are Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeran, Passenger, Jason Mraz, The Beautiful Girls & Xavier Rudd. Pat loves to learn and sing covers but he also writes his own material too. He’s begun busking at local markets and was recently voted winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Urban Country Music Festival. When he’s not playing music you’re most likely to find Pat at the beach, surfing with his mates, and that laid back influence can be heard in his music….
