Started writing/recording simple demos in Adelaide, in the 1980s, much under the influence of the gods of the day, the Smiths et al, before leaving for Sydney. Appeared in three Sydney Uni band comps as "The Head Of" (solo acoustic). Played the pubs of inner Sydney in the late 1980s. Busked in Japan in the early 1990s, on the freezing streets of Sapporo. More or less gave it away for a few years, while getting career started (day job), before performing again in 2000-01 at International House, NYC, and in 2002, at Club Acoustica and Musicians & Singer Songwriters (M.A.S.S., St Andrew's Church, Balmain), in Sydney. Since moving to Canberra in 2003. Appeared at "Merry Muse" folk evenings and completed my album of greatest non-hits with Canberra sound engineer, Kimmo Vennonen. The album was called 'Hunting Down White Chocolate.' A version of "Find Me an Ocean" appeared on Melbourne band Litany's 1999 (US) release "Peculiar World," (sung by my sister, Stephanie Bourke). Lived in London
