www.pauldmcdowell.com Handpicked by Gordon Raphael (the Strokes, Regina Spektor), praised and encouraged by Sir Paul McCartney (the Beatles), and mentored by David Cross, (King Crimson's violinist); Paul D McDowell has been writing songs as far back as he can remember.  Born and raised in Liverpool, Paul has toured his original music around the UK, Europe and across parts of Western Australia. He is currently living and making music in Perth, Western Australia. Paul D McDowell has released four original solo albums, and two EPs, gaining radio airplay in Liverpool, Seattle, Berlin and London; as well as across the Australian continent. His newest album is called ‘Oceans in a Droplet’.  Paul's intricate fingerstyle guitar playing is influenced by folk, blues, classical, jazz and rock styles. His music stems from personal life experience, nature, stillness, meditation and self expression. He artistically creates transcendentally timeless tunes, poetically reflecting on the gift of now as an eternally shimmering present. In his live performances Paul D McDowell plays solo with guitar and voice, occasionally supported by Perth visual artist Michelle Gemina on drums. Other additions to his live show often include a variety of other elements including a foot stomper, harmonicas, a loop pedal, percussion and other performers.  Paul is currently releasing a bunch of his recordings and is working hard on his fifth album which he will release in 2024.
