My name is Kirk Watt, I began my guitar playing expedition since before the age of ten, I learnt my first full tune (Italian song) from my grandfather and through some primary school lunch times I learnt some scales, chords and blues from a teacher there who also copied chord charts for me and visited to run through songs he had written and listen to tunes I had put together, and was a massive influence to me. I became interested in writing lyrics, and also wrote a couple of songs with a primary school friend at age eleven although with a big period where I concentrated just in writing musical pieces, I took up writing lyrics again around 1998. I also learnt to play the keyboard at an early age from cousins who were teaching keyboards and how to read music, although my keyboarding skills have dropped a little and I find it much easier and a quicker process to learn a cover song by listening to it. I have been playing out and about with different musicians since high school (92)
