She was accomplished in remixing Metallica songs by holding the pause button half down to replicate the vocal styles of the Chipmonks. Even prior to this she organised rock concerts for the neighbours, recruiting cousins and siblings as band members, and selling tickets for these original performances. In year three, Westy joined the school choir, but dropped out in year six, when practice was moved to lunch times. From age 7 she took keyboard lessons, but was disillusioned by having to play 'old' songs she had never heard of. She began learning guitar at age 20, and continued self
