Peter Joseph Head is a backyard alchemist who has spent most of his life trying to transform the most everyday occurrences into the most transcendent pop songs. He is an inventor and a battler and a believer. As a teenager he studied avant garde composition in Melbourne before traveling to Japan to become a master of musicology in Kyoto. He rejected the twin ivory towers of experimentalism and classicism. He realized that he just loved the way words and music go together. Since then he has written a song every week for the last 10 years, almost exclusively between other appointments. He has written choruses in car parks, verses during lunch breaks, codas on cricket grounds. He is a dreamer who won't listen to reason.
