Petrias fresh vocals and acoustic guitar form an original folk pop sound. Growing up in South Australian Mallee Country, her sound captures the positive energies that she was surrounded with whilst growing up. Her songs reflect life experiences as well as stories and dreams, such as Banana Tree, which creates an image of a place where we would rather be in difficult times. Petrias Banana Tree Island dream came true in 2005 when she travelled UK and Europe, ending up in the Canary Islands. Whilst in the Canary Islands, Petria recorded an EP with the production assistance of Miguel and Susana Lang-Lenton. The time spent in the company of Spanish musicians led to Petrias music becoming more Jazz influenced folk/pop. Petria performed these new tunes to London audiences at Notting Hill Gate Hotel. The lyrics and catchy melodical hooks remain the focus of Petrias music as she continues to pen her music. Petria has the intention of recording a full-length CD later this year and is
