Edit history

Phoenix Rising is a young, alternative four-piece indigenous Cairns band equally happy playing raucous, riff-heavy hard-edged rock through to reflective ballads from a multitude of influences and artists. Since forming as 12 yr olds in 2008 from two previous bands at the same primary school, the original six piece has consolidated into four, remaining unchanged since early 2010, largely due to their very close, long time school friendships and mutual respect developed as musicians. Now at average 17 years and highly respected for their professional, energetic, high-octane live shows, their precocious, unique stage presence has really set them apart at local festivals and concerts from Kuranda to Innisfail, winning awards at Cairns High School’s Battle of the bands yearly since 2010 and winning the Innisfail Battle of the Bands in 2012. Some major highlights of their 65 performances thus far include the prestigious Cairns Timeout Battle of the Bands, the Heyday and R.U.T.H.L.E.S.S.
