The Plumes recently launched at the St Kilda Festival are now on their way to making their mark in Australia. The Plumes do not undermine their audience - the lyrical content is at once intelligent with a sharp splattering of wry humour. Likened more towards british or french pop rather than sugar/sweet soda pop The Plumes will put away the feathers to showcase a punk-edged honesty. Ambient harmonies married with grinding guitars and arm-chair solilquay.

We are 2 friends from Hobart, Tasmania. Both of us have extensive backgrounds in live music, as well as sharing other common interests such as video games and raising our daughters. Over the years we've found ourselves in extraordinary situations, and the music we've created together documents some of these moments. Every word is true, every feeling was real. Musically, we favour low-slung basslines, hip-hop & techno/dnb flavoured drums, various loopy things and of course there are guitars everywhere. We've done a few shows playing the more dance-floor oriented material, and audiences have always responded well. Currently we're looking to play some of the more intimate songs live as well. We're looking to release an album this year, mixing is mostly finished and we're now choosing songs... is it so wrong to want a debut triple concept album?
