THE PORTRAITS music is best described as melodic pop infused with blues, a hint of soul and folk elements. Too wordy? In short it's just great music. The Keegan brother’s head up the rhythm section with Andy Keegan on drums, and Tim Keegan on electric bass and BV’s. This sibling connection translates into an unspoken understanding and creates rock solid grooves for master guitarists, Jacob Cole on Electric and Lachie Robertson on Acoustic. Cole’s playing is understated and sublime with achingly beautiful blues lines complimenting Robertson’s gritty driving strum, and intricate finger picking. Finally, pianist/singer/songwriter Toni Randle's voice is nothing less than intoxicating and utilizing her Jazz and Classical training goes places other singers would fear to tread. With a collective ten years in the music industry, these talented musicians all of whom have graduated from Australia's most prestigious music schools including The Sydney Conservatorium and The Victorian College

Portraits are a heavy, 5 piece band from Sydney/Wollongong Australia. In their short time of being a band, Portraits have had the privilege to support bands such as In Hearts Wake, I Killed the Prom Queen and Kublai Khan. They just released their debut EP 'Autonomy' and hope to spread their music to as many ears around the world as possible

It is January 2012. The Anchors to Atlantis have been hoisted. In the wake of this event, three members decided to continue crafting tunes together. Now under the banner of PORTRAITS, and recruiting members Marcus and Doug along with founders Nat, Tom, and Dryden, the amalgamation of influences such as The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I, Killswitch Engage, and Underoath forms a cheeky blend of punishing riffage, tasty choruses, and ribcage-rattling gnarly vocals, the likes of which can be seen writing its way on stage with Headwound the Pony, GREENSTREET!, Asleep in the Light, Intention, Bound for Ruin, Road to Ransome, and Daywalker. Have a squiz at the demos, eagerly anticipate the EP, come to a show (they’re cheap!), buy a shirt (if there’s any left, they sell like delicious hot cakes), hug a band member, hug yourself for reading this far, and most of all, you stay classy, world.
