Splitting his childhood between country Victoria and the suburbs of Melbourne, you’ll often find him reflecting on the ups and downs of both sides of life, while making his mark on the world. Starting out young, Potent24 cut his teeth performing at local open mic nights and participating in rap battles, before eventually touring Victoria & South Australia in a band as a teenager. It was here where he first learnt to entertain a crowd, and he’s kept those skills ever since. Potent24 is a student of rap, both locally and overseas. His music is heavily influenced by global stars like MF DOOM, Three 6 Mafia and Elliott Smith. Recently, Potent24 has opened for shows for local legends like Wombat & Kogz, as well as dropping a 6 track Memphis style mixtape titled ‘Melbourne 2 Memphis’. His new release, Be My Peace, featuring songstress Miss Understood, takes a different direction to his usual nihilistic, abrasive raps, instead favouring an uplifting vibe & melodic vocals.
